Pros
Great people culture - friendly, collaborative. Work life balance is good - few if any late evenings, workload is low. Sideways moves are relatively easy to carry out within the organisation Overall business performance is good, Benefact Group and its subsidiaries are in a good strong position. Threat of redundancies is about as low as you can get in the Insurance industry due to performance and because of the bottomless money pit that is the Allchurches Trust. A very safe employment option but beware becoming stuck in place.
Cons
Technical maturity largely stagnant - several major data transformation projects have stalled and been axed. Group Tech are great at talking about adopting new technologies, but nothing actually happens. Third party suppliers deliver a poor service with limited consequences. Miles of red tape - bureaucracy is heavy and this strangles decision-making. Very difficult to progress - many people spend decades here so promotions are awarded on length of service or outside hire. Boredom - work pace is too slow. Management come and go in project land. Internal light restructuring is constant - not through lay-offs but reshuffling of responsibilities.
