Pros

BDO International is having its presence at the world level across all the major countries where one would like to work. Hence choosing BDO International was easy as would give me a global exposure in my professional life.

Cons

The Ahmedabad office specifically has one of the worst Managers and the Associate Directors. The icing on the cake is the pathetic HR department located at Mumbai HO which always gives vague answers to keep the employees at other branches in utter confusions. The highest level politics is clearly visible at least in Ahmedabad office. The Managers and Associate Directors do not have personal life of their own and they expect all the subordinates to work as per their timings which goes into more than 12 hours on an everyday basis. Hence a person working at Ahmedabad office spends half of his day at office only to see his seniors smoke and talk about various issues which the person might not be interested in which in turn means zero personal and social life of all the subordinates working under such seniors perople.

Pros

Compensation is OK. There are some really nice people in the organization to work with, but you have to find them.

Cons

If you are not part of the SWC "club" (company name prior to them joining BDO), good luck. Poor leadership!!! Practice lead talks to everyone like they are talking to a CEO, not relatable in most cases. No clear employee development plans. You are held accountable for things completely outside of your individual control. They stress incorporating AI into work strategy, but have no plan on what that looks like or how to do it and want everyone to formulate it because leadership has no roadmap. One has no control over where you want to take your career, yet you are expected to know everything, about everything. As a result, you become an expert of nothing! Work assigned rarely leverages skills, almost as if they throw darts to see who works on what.
