      Awful- never ever work here! - Associate Avista Advisory Employee Review

      Pros

      None - I would think you would be better off working as a clerk in a bank.

      Cons

      Extremely disrespectful management, no real deals - worked on several deals which were already taken to the market by other banks and could not be closed - so came to Avista! The MD creates an impression that he has everyone important within reach at all times. The worst thing though is how much the junior staff hated the management - it was unreal, I felt bad at times. Very low retention rate- a running joke at work about how most ppl don't last beyond 8-10 months.

      A nice introduction into the financial services industry.

      Cons

      If you want to sit at a desk from 9-5, in an office with a pin drop silence then this is the job for you. There is no interaction whatsoever, especially with interns. Did not feel welcomed at all.

      fellow analysts and associates are good people and nice to speak with at work. hours aren't bad compared to BB

      Cons

      terrible culture, abusive owner, not nearly enough (none) employee development investment, bad dealflow, low comp, high attrition, the list goes on
