Pros
Really liked most of the clients and pilots, and my coworkers were awesome. The pay was pretty good for an entry level job.
Cons
The management. Plain and simple, they are horrible. They are only concerned with money. For example, they have no problem giving customers a GPU they know doesn't work properly, just so they can get the $40 GPU charge. Also, management constantly patronizes us and talks down to us like we are children. The two managers seem really fake... Like they have something to hide. Also, we never get recognition for a job well done, which caused myself and my coworkers to just do the minimum amount of work to not get fired. Another major con is the equipment. One of the other reviewers was not lying when he said that Hartford is where equipment comes to die. Most of our equipment is from the late 80s or early 90s, and we got it all second or third hand from other FBOs. What's even worse is that the equipment is poorly maintained or not maintained at all. A couple months ago when we got a "new" fuel truck that was dug out of one of the other fbo's graveyards, within the first couple fuelings the nozzle ripped off the hose because it was in such poor condition, causing a large fuel spill. Last summer one of the lst's mentioned that the pump on a fuel truck was making a bad noise and he found metal in the sump, and when he brought it to the attention of management was told to not worry about it. Finally, there is no set schedule. Management bounces us around between morning and evening shift rather than sticking us on one shift, because supposedly she doesn't want us forming cliques. This is completely unacceptable and makes us hate our jobs. All in all, if the clients, coworkers, and airplanes weren't awesome, it would be unbearable to work here.
