Pros

If you like the small company atmosphere then the AZ Philadelphia site might be a good fit short term employment. It’s a great place for new undergraduates seeking industry experience. The training process is very robust and comprehensive. The employees (individual contributors) are great to work with. The average staffer is well versed in the overall process and are very willing to help train and teach new employees.

Cons

Due to the size of the site there is not room for growth. Promotions are typically based on overall popularity with HR and upper management (in that order) and not performance. Employees typically go above and beyond to meet corporate goals and fiscal year projections. Unfortunately, more often then non the accolades associated with these efforts are given to upper management and not the employees/individual contributors. Management/ people managers typically have little to no interaction on the daily manufacturing processes. This leads to knowledge gaps which subsequently increase lead times on troubling shooting and overall risk mitigation and change control efforts.

Pros

I imagine this is very dependent on line management but I find my team and supervisors to be true champions of a high performing and highly compassionate work culture. I find my work challenging and rewarding, and have had opportunities to learn and grow and be rewarded and recognized for my output. No job is perfect but I’m truly happy to work here and at a time when AZ is truly rising like a rocket.

Cons

Like any massive global corporate entity, things can sometimes move slowly and it can be challenging to navigate a high number of constantly evolving priorities and initiatives. That being said, AZ is very clear about its north stars and values which makes it possible to prioritize work that has the most impact and alignment with the company’s ambition and business prerogatives. 60% office attendance policy is also a bit funny when oftentimes I am on Teams calls with colleagues sitting in other areas of the world.
