interview was easy compared to actual Microsoft hiring process
Cons
benefits package was minimal, no bonuses, no raises, no promotions, layoffs with no severance, no performance reviews. Management is very disconnected from employees and their work.

Thank you for sharing your feedback on your 3-4 years as a Senior Software Engineer at Ascendion. We note your comment regarding the interview process compared to Microsoft's.
However, we are seriously concerned by the significant issues you've raised, including the minimal benefits package, lack of bonuses, absence of raises and promotions, layoffs without severance, and the complete lack of performance reviews. We also acknowledge your observation that management is disconnected from employees and their work.
We recognize that a rewarding career requires comprehensive benefits, clear growth paths, and stable employment. The practices you've described regarding performance reviews and severance are particularly troubling and not reflective of the professional standards we aim to uphold.
To help us investigate these critical concerns—especially the specific claims regarding severance, the lack of formal performance reviews, and denied compensation/promotion requests—we strongly encourage you to connect directly with a senior member of our HR Leadership Team or letstalk@ascendion.com. Your detailed input is vital for us to address these systemic issues, improve management accountability, and ensure compliance and fairness across the organization.

1) Was sold a full-time opportunity only to find out 6 weeks in that it was an 8-week proof-of-concept contract. They only hired me because of my previous experience with the client. I never would have accepted an 8-week contract and turned down other job opportunities during this time. I was used.
2) They held onto my HSA funds for over a month and could never explain why and only rectified it after numerous emails.
3) They overcharged me on my medical premiums (I never would have signed up for benefits for an 8-week engagement but thinking it was full-time like my paperwork stated, I did) and it took countless emails over 2 months and opening a complaint with the Department of Labor to get my $400+ back.
4) One month after the engagement, I was notified by unemployment that Ascendion said I was fired (which was a lie, the project ended). I had an adjudication interview with unemployment and shared emails with evidence of such. Ascendion never responded which resulted in delaying my unemployment funds for 30 days.
