Pros

Their duck commercials are cute

Cons

If you post your resume to a job bopard and you have the word "sales" in it, you will be called CONSTANTLY by other sales people who are trying to get you to to work for them. Most of these people have been working for the company for a matter of months not years. That is a pyramid scheme!!! Run like hell unless you are a seasoned cold caller and can live without income for months because this company pays you no money until weeks after you make your first sale (which takes weeks of fruitless cold calling). This creates a cutthroat atmosphere where "managers" will take advantage of any technicality to steal your hard earned customers (fact!). Also, you need to be very healthy with NO chance of ever getting sick or in an accident because they don't offer health insurance like any decent company would. If you are just out of college, make sure you live in your parents basement because you will work hard and make very little (or no) money for MONTHS!!!! This company is so desperate for employees, they will send you bogus emails confirming interviews you didn't agree to. That is pure unethical desperation by a company that cares less for your professional development than they are of building a pyramid structure. I know things are tough out there but you will be bitterly disappointed if you work for Aflac. Just keep looking. Anything is better than Aflac and if you want to go into sales, this will not help you. RUN!!!!! You deserve better. Shame on you Aflac!

Pros

Freedom to be your own boss, trips, bonuses, renewable income (instead of one time commission), career instead of just a job. FORTUNE 500 and a World's most Ethical Company. Great training (at least here in Wyoming) and a family mentality. Great family/work balance.

Cons

No base pay, can be a slow start at first, you have to be very organized and self-driven, have to be licensed in life and health to sell insurance (but my management help with the process).
