Pros

I liked the opportunity to work with a big CPG as a Contractor, it allowed me to develop my skills as a packaging engineer as well as get to know a lot of different colleagues. The support from the Account manager is good and they want you to succeed not just for them but for yourself as well.

Cons

The contract renewals aren't discussed extensively and sometimes there is a lack of communication.

Thank you for your feedback. I am thrilled to hear that you had a good experience working for a large CPG client. I'm especially happy to hear that you were able to continue to develop your skills and expand your network. I appreciate the feedback on our communication and we will work to implement an improved process as it relates to renewals for existing assignments. I wish you continued success!

Pros

-Great industry saturation, opportunity to work with some great companies. -Good network of packaging engineers. -Decent name recognition, especially in New England, Bay Area, and Chicago.

Cons

These are all based solely on my experience. Part of a contract company is your experience is heavily based on where you are placed. I will try to focus this on Adept and not my client. -Limited access to managers. This is challenging if you are less than 10 years experienced and used to technical oversight. -The pay is 1099. This is fine if you are a independent consultant, but i was a dedicated resource to one client. -Doesn't honor their contracts. I was let go the day I gave my 2 weeks notice even though the contract promised a 2 week break on both sides. I was very surprised by this. I had just turned down a full time extension the week before so the release had nothing to do with my performance. -Not super transparent. I had a weird scenario where they where billing the client a flat amount of hours per week and paying me the variable hours i was billed and keeping the difference. Every other contract company i have worked for charged the client exactly what I billed.
