Pros
As another poster says students are one of the few joys. There are some great colleagues, but it's an ever decreasing pool as people leave. Probably a good place to get experience but be prepared to move on.
Cons
Shambolic place to work and as many others state workplace bullying is endemic. No plan, no communication, ineffectual mid managers. Detached and delusional senior managers. Annoyingly Obsessed with massaging position in league tables and student surveys without making any genuine change. New management system failing on multiple levels. Schools are all in decline, simply not competitive, including alleged flagship ones like Games. A 'department' that don't teach making decisions about teaching practice. Student Association in the pocket of senior management. As stated elsewhere HR is a joke. Unprofessional and incompetent at dealing with the simplest requests. Unions don't support staff but reps use it to safeguard own positions.
