Pros
Working at ASEC will give you a new experience and improve your knowledge. You will be communicating directly with senior government officials from ASEAN nations and ASEAN counterparts. The job also offers opportunities to travel overseas for meetings, negotiations, etc. Hence, you can receive additional income as it has a generous travel allowance.
Cons
The salary and allowance do not reflect the responsibilities that one has. One can argue there is no work-life balance, which shows "modern slavery". The organization also does not offer incentives to staff to work after hours and especially during holidays, even also during annual leave. It has poor working culture, bullying, and it forces you to apply that working culture that it has developed since its establishment. Additionally, there is a lack of cooperation between internal divisions, inadequate guidance from superiors, superiors expect their staff to work like robots as well as numerous and constant high pressures.
