I applied online. I interviewed at ASEAN Secretariat (Jakarta) in Nov 2025
Interview
The interview was online. Multiple people interviewed me, or maybe the whole team because I heard their team is quite small. Typical interview questions but what struck with me was it seemed like people were curious about my current work, because I work in a multilateral development bank and the setup might be a bit different than the typical international organization, or I got a sense that some people were interested to move to my current office.

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at ASEAN Secretariat (Jakarta) in Oct 2025
Interview
I went through an online initial interview with a panel of 3 people (1 HR and the other 2 were the direct users). Then I was invited for an in-person written test followed by a second interview, almost a month later, at their HQ in South Jakarta.
The ambience was a bit stiff (due to ASEC's diplomatic nature), but the panellists were nice and their questions were direct, though it was arguably one of the longest interviews I've been to throughout my professional journey.
I joined during the pandemic, so everything was done virtually. There will basically be the HR, the Division who are relevant to the position that you're applying to, and your-might-be-future boss(es).
Interview will be in the form of asking questions. They will ask your knowledge on ASEAN trivia just for you to loosen up (at least in my case).
