Pros

Professional development for managers and associates. Great health benefits. Good pay for grocery retail. The company does have good intentions for its people, but it doesn’t really execute well. Aldi is always evolving and trying to grow.

Cons

Tight labor budget resulting in bare bones crew most times, which makes accomplishing daily tasks very difficult. High expectations on time management on tasks, like working truck pallets, end of night cleaning, etc. There is no college assistance/tuition assistance. Work/life balance isn’t the greatest but company does try ensuring you get one set day off every week. Some people would rather have two days off back-back and 5 days on straight through, or 4 10’s and 3 days off.

Great pay Hours were always there The manager at my location is a rare gem. Never had a boss quite like him. Everyone I worked with became like my family.

Cons

EXTREMELY physically demanding. I injured myself multiple times while I worked there.

Pros

+ industry leading wages Associates - $12/hr, Shift Mgr - $16/hr, SMT - $23/hr, Store Manager - $75,000+/yr + great work environment + excellent training + health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k + 40-50 hr/wk with paid overtime Very fast paced so work hours fly by. I loved working at Aldi. The pay was great! Benefits great! Was training to be a store manager so a lot was expected of me but I was totally up for it. My store manager loved my work, associates loved my fairness, customers loved me.

Cons

+ work/life balance + walked 28,000 steps/day!!! Never thought I would be fired for clocking in only minutes late!!
