the pay is great, and the benefits are decent

Everything else. Days off come one at a time, so say goodbye to a "normal" 2 day weekend. Management is stubborn and at times hostile. The work is backbreaking and being criticized for what you do is commonplace. No sense of accomplishment in this job either... The work never varies and is never done. You don't get a chance to stand back and look at what you've accomplished because you never really accomplish anything. Think of the hamster running his ass off on the exercise wheel but never really going anywhere. That's exactly what it feels like to work at Aldi.
