Pros

Remote flexibility Company 401k Match Decent benefits and PTO policy

Cons

Low Pay Misleading Job Responsibilities Misleading onboarding Process Poor Training (if any at all) High Turnover Poor Communication Poor work life balance Poor culture Poor Engagement First, I’d like to start by saying I typically never leave reviews; however, I hope this review saves someone else’s time. I began interviewing in April 2021 for the role of remote IC. Simple and straightforward interview process and I gave a verbal acceptance on May 6th. Before receiving an offer letter, HR needed to run a background check.. it took almost 2 1/2 months due to HR dropping the ball consistently. Finally, I was assigned to a competent Acquisition specialist who was very communicative; however, my first date of employment was 8/2/2021.. A verbal yes on May 6th and a start date of 8/2nd.. inexcusable. Next, I was hoping to turn the page and was so excited about beginning since I went through a 4 month nightmare..Next disaster)….Training was absolutely useless and a joke. PowerPoints we’re thrown together and we’re irrelevant to what we were doing. There weren’t any modules or ways you could practice retaining info. Everything was depending upon you shadowing calls and connecting with current SR ICs who barely had time for their own work, let alone training someone. In fact, each training session would turn into a venting session about how overworked and overwhelmed they were. I would reach out to teammates with questions and ask to join other calls but would receive zero response. Even my direct supervisor couldn’t spare time to review specific items because they were stretched so thin. I STILL don’t know what I was suppose to do within this role. Also, within 3 months the team lost 5-6 employees. Lastly, we had a venting session with a director about the multiple internal problems within the department and we were basically begged to transfer to another department before considering leaving. “At this point we’re losing too many people.. I would rather you go to another department before leaving the company”… I was so disappointed that I waited almost 4 months just to be apart of this madness. Also, technology and software is extremely behind. Some of the systems looked as if they were created in 96’. Completing work will be very manual and no one knows how to complete tasks.. if I asked 3 people how to do the same basic task, I would get three different answers. Its really hard to learn when the people who are training you don’t know what’s going on. Eventually, I resigned and received employment elsewhere and was suppose to receive instructions on how to return equipment. I still have the equipment at this present moment and I’ve reached out several times to leadership asking about when will I receive shipping labels. Ive been gone for over a while and no one has gotten back to me. This is the most unprofessional organization I’ve ever been apart of and employment was a complete waste of time. If you’re looking for work and come across an Implementation req for AIG, please please please reconsider. Do not waste your time and effort interviewing for this nightmare.

Pros

AIG pays well. Pretty good benefits package & bonus structure.

Cons

The work is wild at AIG! Also, there are ALOT of people at AIG so, everybody has to weigh in on everything you do...keeping you bottlenecked in your work flow. AIG is not the place for a brand new, entry level adjuster breaking into the commercial space and they pretty much only hire experienced people HOWEVER, it does not matter-management will not trust your experience therefore, there is little to no autonomy! You will find yourself touching the same thing 3 or 4 times because your always waiting on permission or someone else's opinion on something, etc. You got to get permission to send for conflict check, got to get an opinion to answer a demand, a tender, an ROR ltr. .. they pounce on defense counsel's hourly rate to be cheap with them which makes them work w/less efficiency...dragging the claim out so they can get their billable hours. You will work your fingers to the bone for that good pay & you will be frustrated and exhausted, ALL THE TIME!...The environment is pretty stuffy w/a very high stress level, (especially with long time AIG employees who definitely drink the "kool-aid" and think they are hot stuff). They will keep you in dumb meetings on your claims all the time presenting your claims with everyone scared to make a decision plus, they never want to pay the claims, they are cheap as hell. They will make you have to scramble at a mediation to get more money even though you told them what you needed when they forced you to present the same claim to 3 different people before the mediation date. To me, management are glorified overseers who still handles the claim...they just tell you what to do or, they come behind you and second guess everything. And, they are trying to enforce 3 days in-office a week (which is hell for ATL traffic) plus, it's crowded on the elevator (which seems to get stuck more often than what I am comfortable with) and trying to find a desk when everyone decides to come in at the same time. It's a good temporary move....if you need the advanced commercial experience and/or want to reset your pay...stay for 1-2 yrs then, go somewhere else with work from home and a little more professional autonomy.
