Pros

Manager was good, benefits were alright, getting snacks and free food were probably the best

Cons

Overworked, too many responsibilities to take care of with severe low pay (will literally have you overlook 3 offices, 6-8 partners, tax filing and document formatting and pay you less than 40K), lowballs salary range now to low 40’s, exclusion among divisions and teams, snobby people and overall poor management also barely any room for growth. Their “growth” opportunities was to take on tasks of a senior admin when you’re basically already doing the tasks of a senior admin lol. If you enjoy being yelled at almost everyday by upper management/a partner, by all means apply to the Toronto office. Otherwise I would avoid this place like the plague

Pros

Some of the managers are nice and competent.

Cons

The firm’s culture is horrible. They are not diverse at all, especially in their leadership, and they obviously don’t care about their employees. They will penny pinch you for everything and try to squeeze the most out of you while paying you nothing. Their salary, benefits, and RRSP matching, are well below market and they cannot even compete on name like the Big4. They also changed the structure so now you have to meet your billable hours per quarter to get extra days off. Other firms give employees an extra 5-6 days of vacation with no strings attached. The firm also doesn’t pay overtime. Compensation is bad and culture is bad so firm is full of mediocre, toxic people who don’t do anything (or don’t do it right) and it’s a feedback loop. Would recommend to avoid this place if possible - lots of other places (Big4 or in the mid-market) that have much better compensation and culture.

Pros

The people are good, the team is nice to work with.

Cons

Salary is well below a living wage, and even further below industry standards. Far too much responsibility, the longer you stay the more they take you for granted and take advantage of you. Turnover rate is very high. They promote work culture, but it's not enough to compensate for the stress of trying to manage with not earning a living wage.

Pros

They give you 9 flex days that you can used throughout the year on top of 3 week vacation, health benefits and some other benefits.

Cons

The billiables hours minimum for busy season is not sustainable. Salary range is on the low side of senior accountants comparable to other similar size frims
