Good culture but metrics-driven environment harms work-life balance
Pros
The company provides flexibility and has a good culture overall.
Cons
Firm is fiercely focused on metrics, the "Thriving with Clarity" measurement of chargeable hours has been the main focus of the firm since the start of 2025. Flex days were taken away and now must be earned by meeting 100% of your chargeable hours targe which is very hard to accomplish based on the ebbs and flows of work. Partners are only focused on profits and we are losing some great staff. Work-life-balance is non-existent - to meet chargeable hour targets you must work far above the contracted hours of 37.5/week. On paper it looks like balance, but in reality, it's not feasible. Constant mental gymnastics to ensure you are meeting hour requirements instead of having mental clarity and focus to just do your job.
