Pros
- Multiple studio-wide playtests per week. The game is already very fun to play despite it being relatively early in its' development cycle. - Great work culture. Everyone's passionate about their work, and people here get on well with each other. - 4 day work week, although we work the last working Friday of each month and sometimes revert to a 5DWW closer to deadlines. - We're given a lot of agency in how we approach deliverables. We're free to do quick R&D if required, and are given creative freedom to explore how elements of the environment should look. - Lots of support from HR when we need it. I suffer from migraines and the studio is happy to accommodate my needs when I am unable to work
Cons
- This is a fast-paced studio. Newcomers are given some breathing room initially, but are expected to match deliverable timing and quality quite quickly or risk falling behind. - Leadership is very upfront about their opinions. They won't dance around an issue and will tell it like it is. I put this as a con because some people might not be used to it and word choice can border being 'rude' sometimes. Being straightforward is good though.
