Perks & benefits working for council. Free gym, pool & sauna access. Great to workout after your shift. Is a great place to work if you like being involved in the community and chatting to people.

Pay is responsible, some benefits such as salary sacrifice if you want more holidays, long service leave (after completing 5 years)

Cons

Difficult to advance / get promoted. Most people leave to get ahead. Useful/ meaningful training is scarce. Very hierachical. Low appetite for innovation.

Great Culture, benefits of working from home and support structures. Good for development as you are exposed to multiple teams across a large organisation.
