Campus Development Office (CDO) is responsible for building project development and property maintenance. Our office provides comprehensive professional services across a vast array of building project types, including the institutional, office and student hostel categories. Our responsibilities range from master planning to architecture to interior design, covering all stages of the development process, from the client's brief and design requirements to project management and site supervision until project completion. CDO also provides facility maintenance and building repair services to ensure the campus operates smoothly at all times.
The appointee will report to the Associate Director of Campus Development and the Project Manager. He/She will play a key role in various capital development and alteration projects, from planning through implementation to delivery.
- Assist the project E&M manager on all building services issues;
- Assist the Project Leader in inspecting and supervising contractor's site works to ensure work quality complies with contractual requirements;
- Ensure contractors observe statutory requirements, relevant procedures, and measures for safety, health, environmental protection, and the University’s housekeeping rules;
- Monitor contractor's site works to ensure progress adheres to the contract programme;
- Coordinate with users, contractors, and in-house units to ensure the working schedules, access arrangements, site protection measures, etc. are properly planned and implemented;
- Prepare and submit site progress reports, photos, and site memos as instructed by the Project Leader;
- Attend project meetings and site progress meetings;
- Monitor the testing and commissioning of contract works to ensure compliance with specifications;
- Monitor the progress of defect rectification work during the Defects Liabilities Period;
- Assist the Project Leader in preparing drawings and specifications for proposal submissions, feasibility studies, and the design of capital and renovation projects; and
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Building Services Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with a valid safety training course certificate (commonly known as “Green Card”);
- At least 5 years’ proven experience in project works duties related to electrical and mechanical installations;
- Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; fluency in Mandarin is an advantage;
- Strong organisation, communication, and relationship management skills;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Proficient in preparing presentations to stakeholders/users;
- Being self-motivated, able to work independently, with the awareness to seek guidance and support when necessary;
- Being open and receptive to receiving coaching from supervisors and colleagues, assimilate feedback and learn quickly from it; and
- Being a collaborative and patient individual, with a passion for the creation of visually pleasing yet functional spaces are required.
- Proficiency in using AutoCAD and Revit is preferred.
Candidates with less experience may be considered for appointment as Technical Officer.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.
Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
