The Multifunctional Composites and Structures Lab (MuCSL) @ HKUST (http://maeyang.people.ust.hk/index.htm) interfaces with chemistry, materials engineering, multifunctional materials and mechanics to address engineering challenges in aerospace, offshore, defence, automobile, civil, energy and healthcare areas via technological innovation and entrepreneurship. The MuCSL is now inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow or Research Associate position in the area of Building Energy Analysis.
Applicants should have a PhD degree in in mechanical or civil engineering, energy or material science with strong background in thermal dynamics, heat and mass transfer, or related areas. R&D experience in numerical simulation and modelling using softwares such as Fluent, Comsol or Energy plus is also required. Experience with phase change material simulation is preferable. The appointee is expected to have good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, capability in drafting research proposals and academic papers; be highly self-motivated, attentive to details and be able to work independently. A high level of proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese is essential. (Duration: 1 year, renewable)
