Visa has a slow decision making process. It took forever to get to the first interview, get feedback, and proceed to the second. In the meantime, I didn't know where I stood, as getting any feedback from HR was difficult. I didn't think HR was really in the loop as to what the Finance dept was thinking regarding my candidacy. The people I meet with, Denise Sterling and her direct reports, were personable. The interviews with her reports (3-4) generally asked me questions off my resume, such as "have you experienced?" or "how do you approach this?". The oddest interview was with Denise herself; she spoke most of the time and didn't ask me anything I can remember now. I kept wondering what she thought of me, as I didn't know if she got anything out of the conversation; my guess is that she left it to her reports to decide. My advice to others interviewing with FInance: unless you come from the payment industry, understand how your skills translate to Visa. The most critical skills are those of managing up, gaining buy-in, and managing internal clients.
