My recent interview process with Verkada reminded me that the grass truly ISN'T greener everywhere.
Let's start with the transactional attitude of the recruiter, who seemed more interested in recounting nightlife escapades of the past weekend than conducting a professional interview process and getting to know me as a candidate.
The hiring manager should run a master class on how to waste candidates' time. With over a decade of sales experience in this space and a record of over-performance, I expected a substantive discussion on how I could add value to the team. Instead, I was subjected to a barrage of redundant, irrelevant, elementary questions that made it clear this individual did not bother to prepare or even understand my background.
The condescending attitude was infuriating and demonstrated a complete lack of respect for my time and experience.
If this is how Verkada treats its potential employees, I shudder to think how they treat their customers and partners.
I will certainly be steering clear. Your results may vary.

I had six interviews with this company and then never heard from them again. No call, email, or text saying they weren’t moving forward, just crickets. Unprofessional after one interview, let along six interviews.

Screener indicated that they meet with a hiring committee once a week and would identify candidates to move to the next round. Screener noted that they would reach out directly regardless of the decision made.

The interview process was well-structured, and I felt supported and welcomed at every step. Communication was clear and timely, and the experience gave me a strong sense of the positive culture at Verkada.
