I applied online. I interviewed at Verkada (San Mateo, CA) in Apr 2021
Interview
I honestly had such a great experience interviewing with Verkada. I loved how quick and straight forward it was but I also got to learn a ton about the company and the role itself (comp, expectations, training, etc.
They paid for my flights, hotel and ubers to get out to their HQ in Cali for me to meet with the team and it was great. I loved being able to see the office and get a feel for the culture .
The recruiter and coordinator I worked with were so friendly, responsive, and helpful! They made the interview process so smooth and enjoyable! They really made me feel special throughout the entire process and that they were truly interested in the skills I could bring to the company.
Overall I had a great experience and knew that I wanted to work for Verkada :)
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
When have you had to deal with a candidate who has multiple competing offers on the table? What did you do to try and close them and choose your company?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Verkada (Salt Lake City, UT) in May 2024
Interview
My first interview was conducted by a recruiter in the home office over the phone. My second interview was a Zoom interview with the recruiter in the office where the role was posted (Salt Lake City). I then was invited onsite where I gave a brief presentation followed by three 30 minute interviews with sales leaders. The last portion of my interview was all done on Zoom, three individual interviews for 30 minutes each. I met with two managers from the home office and the vp of sales in Salt Lake City.

Interview
I had an initial call with the sales recruiter and she was so rude from the jump. She grilled me with questions rapid-fire style and would barely let me get my last word out. She chuckled at some of my responses and she continuously challenged my experience or what I said in a combative way. The whole call was agressive. She had a distasteful tone the whole time and finally let me ask questions for the last 5 min. There's so much about the job and team I got no information about because she didn't spend any time walking me through anything nor did she try to talk about Verkada positively either. I'm just SHOCKED that a recruiter could actually talk to a fellow recruiter this way, because as a recruiter I know how candidate experience should be and that is not it.
I was curious as to why she asked about so many specific things about the AE's I hired when I hadn't even had a chance to ask questions and I realize those things are the issues that they are having with their sales team per the reviews on here.
No candidate should leave an interview feeling disrespected. I have no idea if they will want to move forward but I definitely don't.
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Verkada in Mar 2024
Interview
I had a dreadful phone screen. The recruiterwas incredibly rude and interrupted me constantly. They had a snarky remark for almost everything I said and was really hung up on the fact that I had not hired AEs who had closed million dollar deals (They should know that recruiters cannot control the sales deal size that AEs close!)
At one point when I was describing my experience, they interrupted me and said "Now tell me what you really did in your job." Like they were not listening to what I said previously or they did not believe my previous descriptions of my role.
They left no time for questions and barely spoke about Verkada or the role.
I was so happy when the call was over and relieved when the rejection email promptly came a few days later. I could not work at a place like that.
