I've worked in the big tech before (F/A/G) and I was interviewed by one of the founding engineers for a technical position.
The overall experience is the WORST I've ever seen and it is weird that I can't believe it is true. They stopped my process at the technical screening. Overall it is 30 minutes: the interviewer came on time. There is no introduction about himself (assuming that I know him????). There are no questions about me, no time for me to introduce myself. We go directly into the coding question (which I am fine with). It is an easy question that I finished within 20 minutes. After finish, I confirmed with the interviewer that it is what he expected, We then move to the next part where he introduces one of the camera models and he showed off the technology Which is: we can supply the electricity using the ethernet cable. Do you call this innovative? It has been on the market for quite a long time. Then he asked me to ask questions. For all the questions I asked, he answered for no more than 2 sentences. The overall process is 30 minutes.......
Overall, I am glad I am rejected. It is a total waste of my time and probably theirs as well. The interview shows that they have no interest in learning more about the interviewee and probably no intention to hire at all.
0 questions about my background, 0 questions about my previous experience, 0 introductions about the interviewers himself, 0 sentences about what he does in the company. You may say this is the style they hire. But I'd say, as an interviewee, you have a lot of choices. Do not interview them, this process is not respectful of your time. And feel free to: 1. check more info about this company on Blind and that will change your opinion on working for this company. 2 Check more about the cameras and this will also help you question their competitiveness. All in all, this will be a waste of your time, do an online searches before applying and interviewing with them.
Starting with a brief introduction, then ask a leetcode-like question, involving uniformly distributed indexes of 2D matrix. Also ask a tiny design question. The interviewer was great and friendly, and super helpful
