Question 1
Gave a scenario to build an basic mobile application start to finish? I built more than 15 apps, so it is not much difficult to me.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at USAA in May 2022
Interview
A recruiter reached out about opportunities for both iOS and Android. They swept me in with a seemingly fast interview process of a technical screening followed by a video call. The results of the technical screen were used to rank candidates, “junior, mid, senior, etc.”
The screening itself consisted of someone from a recruiting agency reading random trivia questions off about mobile app development. At no point was I asked to solve a problem with software (the fundamental thing software engineers do).
Needless to say, this interview process was insulting as you can’t trivialize years of experience to a skewed set of trivia questions. Someone that’s perfectly capable of navigating their way around mobile app development can be miscast just because a trivia question was asked about something they just happened to have not worked with before.
On the bright side though, if you’ve just finished a course in mobile app development, these guys might be the perfect ticket to scam your way to the top right off the bat.
