I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at UPS (Moses Lake, WA) in Apr 2016
Interview
I applied online through the UPS website for the package handler position. A couple of days later, I got a phone call from them. On the phone, the lady and I set up an interview date. I went down on the day of the interview, and was instructed to wait with the other applicants. We waited for about 30 minutes, then we were briefly interviewed all at once.
After this, we were interviewed one-on-one. The guy interviewing me was brutally honest. He basically said that the job sucked. He said that I could easily find a job with less work for the same amount of pay, or a job with more pay and the same amount of work.
One of the reasons I tried to get the job was because it was a night shift, and so I thought I could go to college while working there. The guy said that many people have been in the same situation, thinking that it's a good idea, but that they almost always never stick around for more than a couple of weeks. That's why he was so honest about the job, because he wanted to make sure that the applicants knew what they were in for before accepting an offer.

Signed up and got the job. Have to pass a drug and background test. They're constantly looking for bodies, with generally high attrition rate for new hires. The guys that get through the probationary period typically stay a long time, many until retirement.
Straight forward, to the point. Question and answer style. Can you manage to move X amount of packages in Y amount of hours? How well do you deal with difficult personalities?
