I had two rounds of interviews, the first round was with the hiring managers and the second round was with the project managers.
The initial interview was great, I learned more about the company, about the possible prospects of interning there, what I'll be doing and what I'll be learning.
Everything went well, went on to the second interview, and was asked if I had experience with "maintenance", I don't since it's an internship and I'm there to learn, furthermore, It's related to my future career prospects so I should able to tie my curriculum to a practical industrial setting.
Was promptly rejected the following week, but found out from my peers that the spot had been filled up a month prior by a peer of mine, their experience was completely different, they had to fill up visa application forms and a bunch of pre-interview questions before even sitting for the first interview. so what's the point of wasting my time interviewing me twice and claiming you'll be excited to have me over there?
I wasted a total of 3 hours (1 1/2 hours per interview). I even postponed other internship interviews just for them and those positions were filled up immediately.
Truly a kick in the nuts, If you're looking for an overseas internship, it's probably best to seek elsewhere.
