I applied through university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Tata Consultancy Services
Interview
It was the 2-day drive.
1st Day:
On the first day, there was the Aptitude test. The test was conducted on computers. It consists of 4 sections:-
1. Email Writing (10 Minutes)
2. Quants (40 Minutes)
3. Technical MCQ (Only C Language) (20 Minutes)
4. Coding Test (Basic C Language Programs like reverse of strings, palindrome, leap year, prime no etc) (20 Minutes)
2nd Day:
Shortlisted students who cleared the test were called for interview.
Round 1(Technical):
They'll ask you questions based on your interest. If you tell them that you are quite good at Java then, you will be asked questions based on Java. Also if you don't mention your skills then they'll ask you your favorite subject and ask you questions on that subject. They'll ask you about your projects (its good to make short introductions for your each project).
Also, you must be prepared for core subjects like OS, DBMS, DS. Having a good knowledge of C and C++ would be a plus.
Round 2(HR):
It was quite straightforward. Some of the questions they asked me :
-Tell me about yourself?
-Why Tcs?
-Can you do night shifts?
Your answer must be in the favor of HR.
After clearing the TCS National Qualifier Test (NQT), I attended a single interview round that combined technical and HR questions. The interviewer focused on my projects, programming knowledge, and understanding of current technologies. One of the main discussion topics was the difference between traditional software systems and AI-based systems. The interview was conversational, and the interviewer evaluated problem-solving ability, communication skills, and technical understanding. The overall experience was positive and the difficulty level was average.
