      Executive Team Leader Interview

      14 Sept 2013
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Target (New York, NY) in Jul 2013

      Interview

The entire process took about 2 weeks, I applied online and was contacted by a recruiter within 2 days. i was asked 5 behavioral questions and I was then scheduled for 2 in person interviews on the same day. The in person interviews went well I was contacted about an hour later to schedule a job shadow. I did the job shadow late at night and I thought it went well, however, after the job shadow I received a generic letter from HR stating I was not selected to move forward with the final interview. Keeping in mind the whole time I was doing the job shadow the employee stated this was not an interview but more about me getting to know what I would be doing. The employee was talking to me as if I already had the position so I have no clue why I was not selected to move forward as I have more experience than the typical college grad and the position is usually filled by recent college grads. I actually don't think they really were hiring for the position, and a few days after getting the email from HR I got a link to do a reputation survey Which I thought was quite odd. Why ask me to do a survey about your company after rejecting my application

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The questions were not difficult per se: Tell me about a time when you had to give credit to someone else? what is your greatest weakness/strength? Tell me about a time you had to deal with an unexpected situation? Tell me about a time when you were selected to bring up a difficult topic to a supervisor? Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Why do you want to work for Target? Tell me about a time when you disagreed with your supervisor Tell me about a school project you worked on? Tell me about a time when you had a conflict with a co worker and how did you resolve it

I applied through university. I interviewed at Target (Charlotte, NC)

      Interview

It was a two step interview process. Personable and you are able to interview with not only your direct managers but theirs as well. Provides transparency into your new team. My interview was virtual because I was moving to the area, but I'm sure they do in person for local folks.
