      Difficult interview

      Application

The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Target in Jan 2012

      Interview

I applied for a Distribution Operations Manager - Group Leader position with Target. After submitting my application and resume through their online system, I was contacted about a week via email by a HR - Distribution Recruiter. My first telephone interview involved basic interview questions. I believe the first interview a "feel you out" approach. Nothing really hard about the initial interview. At the end of our conversation, the recruiter informed me that she would like to move along in through the process and scheduled my second interview at that time. My second interview was a little more intense. It consisted of behavioral questions, which the recruiter informed they would be. My interview was on a Friday and my recruiter stated that I would hear from them by Monday or Tuesday, should I be selected to move along in the process. I felt my interview wasn't my greatest. Immediately after our interview, I sent the recruiter a "thank you" letter and again expressed my interest in Target. One thing to mentioned is the recruiter at this point, asked my salary requirements. Because I did my research on Target, my salary requirements fell in the range of my research. Also, the recruiter asked if the work schedule would fit my schedule. And, it did! Lastly, the recruiter asked if I was actively seeking employment elsewhere. I was totally honest with them. She asked what phase in the process I was in with the other companies, the type of position, and how Target ranked in regards to the other companies. Target is definitely ranked # 1 and on a scale of 1 - 10, Target is a 10. I am now looking forward to my on-site interview and very neverous. I'm hoping I have a really good shot at securing this position. I am excited about the opportunity to work for such reputable company. I will keep everyone up-dated of my status. I'm hoping this will be the last step and I can begin working with Target soon.

      Question 1

Tell me about a time you had to streamline efficiency.

      Interview

I had three rounds of interviews. Each interview asked four behavioral questions. They also give you an open forum at the beginning of the interview so be sure to have an elevator speech ready to tell them about you and your experiences. I was interviewing for a position that is in another state so first two interviews were over the phone and third interview was on Skype. I found most the interviewers to be positive in tone and polite. The last interviewers I had could not figure out how to turn their own cameras on and had a very negative tone in their voice from the very beginning of the interview. Wish they were more prepared before the interview started and had figured out all the issues prior to having a candidate ready for their interview. Very unprofessional.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Target (Tucson, AZ) in Mar 2017

      Interview

I do not recall where the recruiter received my information, but I was first contacted by email from a recruiter. I was set up two phone interviews, one informal and one formal. And example of a question from these interviews would be "Explain a time you were curious and what the result was." I was required to take a personality/ logic test. It wasn't difficult. An example would be 'James always arrives at work before Sarah. Kim always arrives at work at the same time as Lenny. Sarah always arrives at work after Lenny. Which one of these statements is true?' Then an A-E option. This section is timed. Later I was scheduled for an in person interview at the facility. The process began with a tour throughout the building and an introduction to the type of operation. Later, there was a introduction to the particular position I was interviewing for. After that, there were two separate interviews, both times being interviewed by two management personnel. I was contacted two days later.
