      Sales Floor Team Member Interview

      5 Dec 2011
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Target in Aug 2011

      Interview

My interview was scheduled at 9 am, and I got there 15 minutes early and had to report to Guest Services and let them know that I was there for an interview. They told me that there was one more step left to my application process, and I had to finish it on the computer up front. It wouldn't let me log in because my application had apparently expired, so I had to complete an entire new one and then complete a whole math test as the final part of the application. This had only added to my nervousness, as I was afraid that they were thinking that I was late for the interview. After we finally got that squared away, a Team Leader escorted me to a back room, where she preceded to ask me never ending questions about past work experiences, my work preferences, and basically your average "tell me about a time when..." (for example: you had a difficult customer, what was the issue, how did you deal with it, and what was the outcome?) This process only took about 15-20 minutes, although it felt much longer. After she had written down literally everything that I said to each question, she had me wait in that room while she went to talk to the Human Resources Leader. When she came back in, she said that HR wanted to see me in her office. I walked in, shut the door, shook her hand, and sat down. I don't think I had ever been more nervous. She basically just clarified a few things that I had said in my interview, preceded to ask me a few more simple questions, and told me that they were going to offer me a job as a Sales Floor Team Member, instead of Sales Flow. She handed me a packet full of drug test information, saying I had 24 hours to take it. After that, I just had to wait for a call back for orientation, and that was it.
