      Interview

I applied in December and within 2 weeks got an email saying they'd like to interview me when they had availability. It wasn't until Feb that I had an interview. Once I arrived I was surprised by a lot of things. First everyone was a lot older than I was expecting. I was expecting 20 somethings and I'd say it was Mostly 40 somethings. A few were really dressed well but the majority weren't. I honestly didn't get how they'd managed to be team lead stylists. This is going to sound mean but the two women that interviewed me looked sloppy. One was wearing a cold shoulder top that kept sliding down. I saw her bra a few times her shirt didn't fit her. That's fashion 101 make sure it fits. The other had a ton of eye liner on. A ton. I'd guess her to be in her mid 40's. It wasnt a good look she looked rough. Every single person I talked to was a stay at home mom so that's definitely the culture. I worked in HR for many years and have conducted thousands of interviews. They asked me some seriously illegal questions. For example how Many kids I had, what my husband did, etc. The people giving the interviews didn't seem like they were trained in interviewing. It was unorganized. But I was a good sport and answered the no no questions. I did a lot of research prior to the interview and the pay was reported to be $15 an hour. They flat out said the pay was $14 and there would be no wiggle room. The office seemed like a pop up office in a not so nice part of town. They were having all sorts of internet issues and no one knew how to fix them. My opinion of the company changed so much. To be perfectly honest I felt like the company might not be doing so well. Reducing the pay, office in a run down part of town, not so stylish stylists...start ups are hard and I think this one might be in trouble. I left the interview with an overall icky feeling. I was a big stitch fix fan and to see this behind the scenes stuff really shocked me. I was SO surprised to get a job offer. I did consider it but was offered another higher paying remote position with another company. It was an easy decision when I considered all factors. But my opinion of sf is forever changed. So I write this to say if you're reading this because you're stressing over a job interview, don't. Don't sweat it.

      Interview

I received an email about a week after applying to do a styling activity, about a week after that was submitted I was emailed again to set up a virtual interview. The interview went well, a lot of “tell me a time when” questions.
