I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Starbucks (Los Angeles, CA) in Oct 2011
Interview
I was initially given an interview by one manger after a friend referred me. From there I was told to apply online so she could process my application and send me to the "job fair". When I arrived at the job fair location they had me wait a few minutes before leading me to a table where two people were sitting. These two people did my initial interview asking me various, basic interview questions. There were other people being interviewed be other interviewers all around me. When they had finished asking me questions I was told to wait for the group interview, meaning I had passed the first round. At the group interview there were three of us being interviewed and three store managers that were interviewing us. They asked more questions, which were slightly more in depth and difficult to answer and we would take turns responding. When it was over we all shook hands and were told that we would be hearing from them soon. I was offered the position about a week later.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
What was a situation in the past when you've taken the moral high ground?
Basically a short chat about my availability, my interest in the job, why I want to work there, how familiar I am with coffee and what my past experiences in hospitality were.
Easiest interview I've ever had. I was only asked 3 questions, 'tell me about yourself, what are your strengths & weaknesses, what is your availability?' Lasted about 10 minutes maximum
Thank you for taking the time to write your feedback. We appreciate your input and are happy to hear that you’ve enjoyed the interview process here at Starbucks.
it was great. I answered every question thoughtfully and easily. You have to have two interviews, one with the manager and one with the district manager. It is a in person interview. They ask many questions and will either hire you on the spot or you will have to call to see if you get the position.
