I applied online to all of the Starbucks stores in my area online and about a week and a half later, I received a call from one of the stores. The woman asked if I was still interested in the job and if I would come in for an interview the next day; of course, I said yes.
I came in about 10 minutes early and told the barista that I was there for a 1pm interview. (I also made sure to be very friendly to everyone!) That barista went and told the manager as I waited at one of the tables.
The manager came out and she was very friendly. The interview was fairly short, only about 20 minutes long. It was also pretty informal. The woman asked me situational questions that weren't that difficult to answer. I'm not sure what an interview is like if you don't have prior work experience, but almost all of the questions were based off of my last job.
When she had gone through her questions she asked me if I had any for her. Tip- always have a few questions to ask! I asked what she liked most about working at Starbucks, how many hours I would expect to have if I were hired, and where the employees parked.
After she answered, she asked me to come back for a second interview the next day and I said yes again. At that point, I gave her my resume and a letter of recommendation from my last employer. As I was leaving, she offered me a free drink too!
The next day, I came in (again, about 10 minutes early) and told the barista. A different manager/shift manager came out to talk to me. She appeared to be in her 20s and was also very friendly. She asked me very few situational questions that were much like the first interview's. Then, she told me things baristas were responsible for doing, and asked if i would be comfortable doing them. I said yes, of course!
After about 10 minutes, that interview was over and she said, "we'll be in touch!" About 30 minutes later, I got a call from them, offering me the job.
