I applied online. I interviewed at Starbucks (Newport Beach, CA) in Nov 2025
Interview
I was invited to the barista hiring event in Newport Beach, CA last week, it was a first come first serve basis with several managers. You put your name on a list and waited your turn, I waited for about an hour and I got there right when it started. When it was my turn, I sat and spoke with a manager for about 20 minutes. I was confident I was going to get the role, but was confused because I was invited to interview for supervisor role and the manager I spoke with agreed that I would be a great fit for a leadership role. Currently still in the second interview process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a time I experienced great customer service.
How would I get the team to get onboard with new policy/processing that they are not familiar with or getting pushback on.
It was short and to the point. They asked my availability and past experience working in the food industry. Since I didn’t have any, I felt it was going to prevent me from getting the job.
Usual standard process of interviewing, we went over my experience and knowledge of working as barista in coffee shops and restaurants in my previous jobs. Highly recommend as a great place to work at !!
Thank you for taking the time to write your feedback. We appreciate your input and are happy to hear that you've enjoyed your overall partner experience here at Starbucks!
The interview was not too bad, I had to wait a bit before getting called for my interview due to some mishaps on their end but that was really the only thing that was negative. It was fine. They called back pretty quickly
