      Administrative Assistant Interview

      27 Aug 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Scottsdale, AZ
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at SpearmintLOVE (Scottsdale, AZ) in Aug 2018

      Interview

Interesting. Like other wrote, the interview took place in the warehouse. I was emailed no more than 5 minutes after I applied through their website and asked when I was available to come in. He said my cover letter was one of the best he had ever received! I went in just 2 days later to meet with him. Very casual vibes because of the location of the office space being within the order processing. After meeting with the CEO/CFO for nearly 90 minutes, it was clear that the position could go one of a few ways. However, he felt that it was important that I take the time to assess if I was still interested in the position knowing that they are a bit of a start up company, but growing fast. I emailed them the next day after thinking about it and received no response. I decided to wait a week to see if he was busy or still weighing out his options. I emailed a week or so later simply asking to be sure he received my email and to let me know if there’s any other questions I could answer. It has now been 2 weeks since that email and I never heard back. I would never expect to have a job after leaving an interview, but I do expect to be responded to. After reading a few other comments on Glassdoor it sounds like one or two others had a similar experience. My suggestion to Spearmint would be not to waste people’s time if you still haven’t committed to a job role. Or maybe that was just his way of telling me I wasn’t what they were looking for without telling me directly that I wasn’t what they were looking for....either way. I am disappointed that it wasn’t handled with more professionalism. I would hate to know that my business was gaining that type of reputation with potential workers/partners down the road.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

He asked several times if I was put off by the nature of the office/work environment given that their computers were set up on tables within the warehouse where they are processing online orders.
