      Organizational Effectiveness Consultant Interview

      23 Sept 2019
      Anonymous employee
      Washington, DC
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Slalom (Washington, DC) in Sept 2019

      Interview

Long but active and thorough. I was able to speak to numerous collegues on the Slalom team to get a good perspective of the firm and the role I was applying for. The recruiter was highly communicative, so while the process took the span of a couple of weeks, none of it was "sitting around waiting" time. I spoke with the Recruiter on the phone, had another phone meeting with a People Manager, and then went to the office for an in-person interview. It sounded like two in-person appointments were standard but they worked with me to combine mine into one visit. Slalom does use Case Interviews. After the in-person, I had another call and one last in-person meeting with another People Manager. I felt like the recruiter was on my side the entire time. She helped prep me for each meeting, negotiated my terms on my behalf, but was also able to offer great insight into how to approach each meeting or step of the process. Overall, the interviews felt very conversational and casual, with some in-depth discussion about my expertise and skill set.

      Application

      I interviewed at Slalom

      Interview

For the first round of interviews for an internship position, it was heavily behavioral and experience-based. I was asked about past work experience, projects, accomplishments, and "tell me about a time when..." scenarios. Also questions about why I wanted to work at the company. Very straight-forward.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Tell me about one of your greatest accomplishments. Tell me about a difficult co-worker you've had in the past.

      Interview

This was an informal informational interview for 30 min via Zoom with a current employee of the firm to chat more about the actual work performed. I was referred to the interviewer by a classmate who used to work with them.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Slalom (Chicago, IL) in Feb 2022

      Interview

Referred to recruiter by current employee. First had an informational call with my recruiter, which was a pretty standard phone screen! Then I had a 45-ish minute long Teams meeting with the recruiter, followed by another Teams meeting with a Principle, and finally a Teams meeting with a Sr Director. The whole process happened over about 3-4 weeks and every single person was very personable and informative.
