      16 Aug 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Austin, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Slalom (Austin, TX) in Feb 2018

      Interview

The interview process consisted of one 3-hour interview and a few social events before getting the official offer. Since this office was a new branch that Slalom was opening up, there was a longer waiting time for the offer than usual - but it was an overall a great experience. I interviewed with three people from Slalom - the tech lead, another consultant, and an HR rep. Next I interviewed one on one with a hiring manager. Overall the interview was great. The questions they asked were geared toward both helping you learn and also getting to know you. At one point, it didn't feel like I was being interviewed, but just having a conversation with people about different technologies and hobbies. I came out of the interview loving the idea of the company and knowing this was the place for me.

      Software Consultant Interview

      14 Oct 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Seattle, WA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Slalom (Seattle, WA) in Jun 2016

      Interview

I applied for a C# developer position and was contacted by an internal recruiter within a week. We setup an in person 1:1 over coffee. The recruiter was very helpful and straight forward with what the company was looking for and the type of work I would be doing. After the initial screening I received an email within a day or two to setup a technical phone interview. The phone screening was relatively standard and came about two weeks after the first in person. The phone interview contained questions about front end javascript frameworks, standard C# questions you'd expect, and a few SQL server questions about indexes, memory and stored procs. I received an email from the recruiter about a day after the phone interview informing me they wanted to bring me on site again for the final interview with 3 of their leads / architects. There was about a months delay between the phone interview and on site due client projects ending and them wanting to staff those consultants first. This decision on their end made me respect the company a great deal as it was an indicator they take care of their employees. The on site interview was actually quite a bit easier than the phone interview, far fewer tech questions and more personal / situational questions. All three people I met were friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The final person had me solve a white board problem, asked me if there was anything I could do to improve on the code I had written and then had me refactor it again for test ability. All in all, very pleasant interview process, a bit on the lengthy side but for good reasons. Been with the company going on 2 months, I have seen two different projects so far, very little bench time and have met a great deal of awesome people.
