I applied online. I interviewed at Scotiabank (Toronto, ON)
The 1st interview was with an HR contact; basic questions to get a better understandong of my background, and possible fit with the team. 2nd of 2 interviews were with the hiring manager and assistant manager.
- Tell us about yourself. Multiple situational questions.

Focuses primarily on culture fit. The technical component is limited as you will mostly learn on the job. Will ask you classic interview questions and go through your resume. There aren't that many interview rounds.
- Please walk me through your resume.

Anonymous Employee in Calgary, AB
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Scotiabank (Calgary, AB)
First interview: video with HR, about 15-20 minutes. Questions related to Scotia values, requirements that are on job posting. Second interview: with individual branch assistant managers and customer experience leads(supervisors). Usually in-person at branch, but may be over the phone or video depending on their preference. I know now that I'm hired, but at the end of the interview they say the HR person decides, but actually the assistant managers/customer supervisors do (depending on if they want you in the branch as a team member), then the HR person vaguely communicates some excuse.
- How do you explain complex concepts in simple terms? What is your experience (sales, finance)? What made you apply? How do you handle rude customers?

It was easy and the team really great to work with. They are very professional and great learning path. I was asked some technical questions and felt valued. I was also given enough time off as a freelancer and appreciated
- Technical questions on design and how many years of experience i had

Anonymous Employee in Halifax, NS
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Scotiabank (Halifax, NS)
Total two interviews happened. First is an HR round which is more cultural and the second is with the hiring manager. The whole process was more focused on the behavioural aspects of the job.
- How do you prioritize your work?

It was pretty okay. I really liked how well organised everything was. One must have a good availability with this. Easy asked questions and hiring was possible. One of the best places to work for a good career
- How great is your availability?

was recorded at first and pretty chill they will give you time in between to prep for the next question and also to take breaks although the process was only 9 minutes in total. they ask 4 questions.

Anonymous Employee

There was a one-way video interview that asked you a couple of questions, a technical challenge that you would complete on your own and a virtual interview that was done with the recruiters
- Please tell me about yourself

Anonymous Employee
I interviewed at Scotiabank
Pretty hard, 2 person panel grilling me on questions that were annoying to talk to. They weren't giving much information at all. and were typing on their computers while talking
- How do you invest 100k

Anonymous Employee
I interviewed at Scotiabank
Had a lot of situational questions, most of them were on situations I faced and how I reacted or acted at the time. They have a lot on their site
- One was "tell me about yourself" others were like "name a time when you displayed leadership"
