I applied through other source. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Rooms To Go (Murfreesboro, TN) in Jan 2019
Interview
Discovered the opening for a ASM position on a job board. I was actually very excited about looking into the opportunity. So I did what I always do when I find an interesting position...I researched on Glassdoor. EVERY review of job interviews for positions with this company displayed blatant deception about their job postings. It is obvious that hey are not going to hire an ASM off the street regardless of their experience. They will make you jump though hoops only to offer you a sales position.
I now have a very poor perception of RTG and not only have I lost interest in a career with them, I won't shop there either. I am very surprised that the company will engage in these types of hiring processes. Especially since in these days that people can share so much information on the web and good websites like Glassdoor.
To go a step further the company makes no attempt to answer candidates or make comments on the Glassdoor website that is open to company recruiters to handle employment interviews and the process. You can also relate their hiring process to their sales process. If they will deceive people who have shown interest in working for them, how much more do you think they will deceive their customers. You can't separate core values between your employees and customers. Your core values ARE your core values.
Just like every interaction is part of the interview process with a company, so is every source of company information available to job searches. In some cases job applicants never get responses from jobs they apply for, in this case the employer will never get the opportunity to deceive this job searcher.
This company needs fundamental changes from the top down on how they manage their applicant flow. You would think that if a company chooses not to hire an applicant they would at least want to be truthful and leave an amazing mores soon on the applicant that they would still want to be a customer.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I never gave them a chance to ask me a question. It is obvious from all the other interview feedback is that the biggest question that I would have been asked would be "How would you like a position that you did not apply for?" (Of course a position much lower than they advertised for to get applicant flow)
