I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Rooms To Go
I came in as a referral. The first interview was with someone in the UX department, and felt very conversational. I went over my portfolio/past experience and was asked a few behavioral questions that I would say are typical for a UX Designer position. This first interview was a very positive experience overall. I was moved onto a second interview with someone on another team. They spent the first few minutes checking personal texts from family and responding to emails. They then went through my portfolio and said "Other than the illustrations, there doesn't seem to be much design in here, unless you're counting functional design". This was about a product I had designed from end-to-end. Not sure what this person expected a UX Designer to be doing, if not "functional" design. Overall, this second interview did feel a bit unfair and unnecessarily disrespectful. To be honest, I feel that this interviewer may have been trying to confirm their own bias through a roundabout line of questioning, rather than evaluating whether I could do the job. To add insult to injury, I was ghosted by the recruiter I was in touch with after several follow-ups :/
- What is the difference between UX Design and Product Design?

I applied online. I interviewed at Rooms To Go (Raleigh, NC) in Apr 2023
I had an interview with the General manager and then a second with the regional manager, both meetings were a good experience. They were easy to talk to and seemed to have a real interest in the development and success of their employees.
- Why did I select Rooms to go?

Anonymous Employee
I interviewed at Rooms To Go
The interview was short and sweet with specific questions about brand awareness and customer service experience. Going in knowing about RTG is a major plus. Also asked questions about conflict/resolution abilities.
- How have you handled workplace conflicts in the past?

The interview flowed very well; I had a good back and forth with my interviewer regarding experience level and what drew me to the position, and how the position is a good fit for me.

Very comfortable, every question was asked very carefully because what they want is very specific and they seem to be very friendly and every thing they offer is really good.

Very easy process. Contacted for a time that worked for interview manager and myself. First interview with manager, second interview with shift manager and supervisor. Overall, very easy process and straight forward.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Rooms To Go (Atlanta, GA) in Dec 2022
The interview process was bad. Took the manager almost 30 minutes to set up the interview after I arrived. They asked me the same generic questions as every other job.

Long interview process with 3 or 4 rounds. You could be called to different Rooms to go stores for the interview. Then after receiving the offer letter the last part of the process is to go for a drug test and that's it, you'll receive the final confirmation for joining in few days.
