Was contacted via an HR rep to schedule a remote first interview. I was provided very little information about the interview, so I asked the HR rep if there was anything I could do to prepare or if they could share any additional information about the interview. No response. When I logged onto the interview I was told this the interview was supposed to be laid back and conversational. Just a chance for me to get to know the Hiring Managers and vice versa. Turns out that was not the case and it was a "pass/fail" PEAK-style interview. I was hopeful but not expecting a follow-up interview as this position was a bit of a reach for me. However, apparently failing the PEAK interview means you have to wait a year to reaply. Had this information been conveyed to me, I would not have accepted the interview; but, I would have waited for a more realistic position and practiced more. Assigned the interview difficulty as "average" because I'm not sure how to rate it. It felt easy in the moment, but I didn't realize the stakes were so high.
