1st Interview by Phone was fine and normal. At the 2nd Interview, not knowing what to expect, I was asked to manage a Case Study in 1 hour and produce a strategy to resolve issues. I was then interviewed by 2 people. I was asked a high volume of character trait questions for approximately 1 hour. Lastly I met a 'Team' of potential colleagues for informal chat.
I was informed by the recruitment company that I had progressed to the 3rd Round interview and that I was the only candidate to do so.
At third round, a bad start occurred as the agency gave me the wrong time (half an hour too early). This i believe created doubts from the outset. The Interview started off as normal, however as time progressed, the questions fired at me became more and more difficult to answer, especially as some were asking experience of me that I simply did not have. My CV is very clear and concise, and I question why the interview seemed to be focused on the gaps in my experience. at 2nd round I performed incredibly well considering I was out of my comfort zone with the content/subject of the case study.
I also found the professionalism of the company, not up to standard. I was suited and booted, polite, professional and courteous.
As an IT Professional with over 14 years corporate experience and I have a strong systems knowledge and track record in my field of expertise.
I was at a loss as to why they decided not to offer the job to me. But to be honest, I would say that there were motives or issues, unknown to me that did not weigh in my favour.
If you go for interview with this company, I would recommend that you probe the interviewers and recruiters and double check that you have all the experience that they are looking for!!
Finally, first impressions count and I have to say that reception was not warm and welcoming in any way of both my 2 visits to their offices.
