First, there was a 30 minutes video call with an HR person. I was a little weirded out by this call. This was the only interview I had where someone asked me cliches like to tell about a good/bad experience. This was especially strange because this was asked *after* I already told him about a bad experience as part of the answer to another question. It was as though he had a form to fill and he just wanted to fill all the boxes.
Next, I was sent an SQL test, which was OK.
Then I had a video interview with the Chief Data Officer. He asked questions about statistics, algorithms, and business acumen. The level of the statistics questions was reasonable, the algorithmic question was easy, and the business questions were unclear and seemed unrelated to the position. It became clear that the position is not a perfect fit for me, which is fair enough. I was informed by email that I was not accepted for the position. I found it somewhat distasteful that they sent me their referral link to a recruitment website.
