      Mental Health Counselor/Psychotherapist Interview

      20 May 2026
      Anonymous employee
      New York, NY
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Octave (New York, NY) in Mar 2026

      Interview

It was helpful that they used a system to conduct Octave used Spark Hire for the initial interview process, which I actually appreciated. The format allowed me to answer questions on my own time in a thoughtful and less pressured way than a traditional live screening. As someone balancing clinical work and supervision, the flexibility was helpful and made the process feel more accessible. I also think a lot of candidates interview better when they have a chance to regulate their nerves and answer from a grounded place, rather than having to think instantly under the pressure of a live interview.

      Question 1

I was asked to dissect and conclude a case study.
