I applied online. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Northrop Grumman (Sunnyvale, CA) in Sept 2014
Interview
I submitted an application on-line through the Northrop Grumman careers website. 20 days later I received an email from HR asking to set-up an on-site interview. The interview was set for the following week.
The interview took a total of 2 hrs. It began with a tour of the facility (~1hr) and then a panel interview with 4 people: my hiring manager, the person that gave the tour (my supervisor), and two other people from different departments.
They started with "Tell us about yourself" and then took turns asking STAR questions. ie "Tell us about a situation where you had to convince others of something using logic/facts." and other topics like working in groups, managing multiple tasks, communication etc. Nothing technical or difficult. Then they asked more straight forward questions like "What is most important to you about a job?" "What is least important?" "Are you willing to work off shifts?"
The interview concluded with the hiring manager saying it might take a while to hear back, and then I was escorted out to the main entrance by someone who had just recently been hired. It was a 5 minute walk so I was able to ask how his experience had been since he began. He said positive things and bid me farewell.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
There were no difficult or unexpected questions. Very positive experience.
Short process that required a 1-on-2 with two team managers. Behavioral questions that are commonly found online and should be responded to in STAR format. Pretty straightforward, but be able to talk in detail about your experiences.

Question 1
Tell me about a time where you had to adapt quickly due to changing circumstances
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Northrop Grumman in Jun 2023
Interview
HR Business Partner reached out to schedule an interview and set up the following week. Interview with hiring manager went great! Received an offer over the phone from HR (Wednesday afternoon). Tried to negotiate salary a bit, with no success. I asked if I could have the night to decide and discuss with family; HR agreed. Called the next morning to accept the offer. HR said "great, I'll let the manager know." Got a call 4 hours later saying the manager wanted to "continue interviewing stronger candidates". Very unprofessional experience overall. Not sure why NG is extending offers to "weak" candidates.

I was contacted via email and we set a date for when the hiring manager could call me. He was the engineering manager for the entire division, and he told me there would only be one interview.
