I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Northrop Grumman (East Amherst, NY) in Sept 2011
Interview
Very hard, asked lots of things about RF, software and even had me draw a flow chart for a large system. Multiple interviewers and very tedious questions. Friendly people, but not sure it was for me. The guy who would have been my manger seemed ok, but I detected some under the radar unhappiness with the employees.
I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Northrop Grumman (Daytona Beach, FL) in Dec 2023
Interview
Tactfully educated prospective veterans on the benefits of employment with NG, while speaking to our sense of duty and the need for a follow-on mission in life. Many opportunities were expressed as available, and they were open to constructive feedback on my resume even though I was not able to consider immediate employment.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What is your plan for continued education? When do you get out of the military? Are you willing to relocate?
I had a behavioral interview with the department manager and another engineer. Overall it was pretty casual. It was a phone interview and was only 30 mins to an hour long
They asked a lot of questions to ensure that you are well-rounded. Asked me to give more info on specific projects I've worked on and my specific roles. Went very smoothly and not too difficult.
