I signed up online through my university's internal career website. That lead to a brief email chain followed by a 45 minute on-campus interview.
The first ~15 minutes of my interview was about why I would choose NGC over my previous company. I felt like she was insinuating that I wasn't wanted back. I've never had a recruiter be so suspicious. For reference, my Lockheed interviewers saw this as a positive, not a negative.
Then we did technical questions. I listed them below.
The next bit was her explaining what she does at NGC and me asking questions about the company culture, positions, day-to-day, etc. I mentioned I was interested in software and she said software interns mostly test software tools and I would only be looking at code around 50% of the time, if that. It felt discouraging. I truly appreciate honesty but this felt... unwarranted? Harsh? Tactless?
Needless to say, I'm no longer considering NGC.
