It was an uncomfortable process to say the least.
I had a phone interview and then an AC where I had 3 interviews (competency/CV/technical) and a "group" task. I was the only one at the AC that day because I was unable to make the second AC they had scheduled, so I had to do the group activity with MS employees - it was awful.
Competency/CV was fine but my technical knowledge was lacking. They ended up giving it to a Masters student so there was little point turning up anyway!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What markets are you following at the moment and what interests you?
General competency questions (e.g. tell me a time when...)
The interview process for round 1 hirevue was really fair and easy and honestly not too hard. I am currently waiting for the response/offer but its just behavioral for the first round.

Question 1
Why do you want to pursue a career in fixed income research?
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (London, England) in Sept 2025
Interview
A Telephone Interview that lasted around an hour was invited to complete a HackerRank before it - a mix of behavioural and commercial awareness, no technical questions, and a couple of brainteasters
Just phone screening with an analyst. Interview was pretty chill and the analyst was super nice. It was more like a casual talk on why I am interested in the job. There were no technicals.
