I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (New York, NY) in Oct 2011
Interview
Had a phone interview from Strats and Modeling group. It was with Securitized Products Group. Questions consisted of basic bond math, pricing IR swaps, some simple brain teasers (whats the angle between hour and minute hands when the time is 3:15) and basic questions on C++ (singleton, difference between copy constructor and assignment operator etc. Got dinged because I could not answer pricing IR swap question properly I guess.
good experience with fid division. mostly resume based questions, but some tech (c++, python, finance, market news). 30 min, with a vp, through zoom. math is difficult but all others good.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (London, England)
Interview
A good interview process, questions on macro and technicals. People were generally friendly. Second round would have been a panel interview but dropped out as I had received another offer. Only con was the process was a bit slow.
five to six rounds of phone interviews with different teams, then one final on-site interview with teams that have selected you out of phone interview. HR will contact you afterwards with offer decision.
